What a milestone… it's been 5 years since I have started Cinematique. And what a ride it has been so far. First of all, nobody could predict the future of my humble little brainchild. But it's still here and people all over the world are still enjoying the sounds of Cinematique.

I've had the pleasure to work with a lot of talented artists from many different countries. Some of them became good friends on the way as well. I've seen artists growing and performing in venues they've never been before or on radio shows they've never appeared before. Moments I enjoy the fullest! And it makes me proud as well. Although the music is the main factor, if Cinematique has helped some artists in the right direction I'm happy I could contribute my part. I've started this label out of love for the music and I'm still running it with the same mindset. It makes me smile to hear Cinematique tracks on big radio shows or being played by big DJ's. But I also feel honored to release more experimental stuff. Difficult and complex music, sometimes underrated but made with heart, soul and dedication. That needs to be heard as well.

When I realized that Cinematique has been established 5 years ago I was thinking how to celebrate this fact. I decided to pick a tune out of every year, so 5 tunes out of 5 years of Cinematique from 5 different artists. The artists of these original tracks would remix each others tracks. And it turned out to be huge! It was hard of course to pick 5 tunes out of the wonderful back catalogue, but choices had to be made. Once again it makes me proud to have such lovely and talented artists aboard who were able to make some magical contributions for this special EP. My full respect goes out to Lanny May, PHM, Ina Becker, Noraj Cue and JSPR for delivering a true 5 years of Cinematique monument.

It's not the end of an era though, it's the begin of a new episode if it's up to me. Moving on to the next 5 years in which we hopefully can keep on releasing quality music. I say thank you to all the artists related to Cinematique in the past, present and future for making this happen.

And last but not least, a big big thank you to all our fans, DJ's and promoters who have been supporting Cinematique over the past 5 years. We would not be here without you!
